Nick Ramsey - Director of Photography

If it’s not worth doing your best, it’s not worth doing at all.  Go big or go home is a mantra Nick Ramsey has always tried to live by.  His attitude and ambition would be an asset to any project.  After transferring from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Nick fell in love with a filmmaking course at Old Dominion University.  He quickly moved up the ranks from PAing on local car spots to operating camera on murder shows for Investigation Discovery.  Nick was proud to then serve the men and women of the US Army as lead videographer for the Enterprise Multimedia Center at Ft Eustis.  As his ambition and desire to tell stories grew, the only logical step was moving to California.

Nick received a scholarship to attend the MFA filmmaking program at Chapman University.  There he learned the true art of bringing stories to life from masters like Bill Dill, ASC and Johnny Jensen, ASC.  His hard work and collaboration on multiple projects earned recognition from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and The American Society of Cinematographers.  Since graduating Nick has shot a multitude of different types of projects, with narrative always being closest to his heart.  Many of his most recent music videos and a spot for Lamborghini have received millions of views on sites like Facebook and Youtube.  Some have even remained at the top of the trending list for days.

Nick likes to create an open, engaging environment on set.  Collaboration brings out the best in the project, so Nick works hard to make sure everyone on the team is creatively-involved.  Extensive pre-production and planning is extremely important, but Nick is always looking for visual opportunities in the moment.

When not on set Nick enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda and two dogs Brody and Bailey.
