Period Piece. Nisei The film touches on a part of history America wishes we could forget. Jin Hashimoto (Kelsey Chock) and his beloved Abigail (Lacey Hannan) are caught up in a world of hate and discrimination. Five months after Pearl Harbor in Long Beach, California, US resentment towards Japanese Americans rises to a climax. Jin must make a decision that will change the course of not only his future, but the future of his family. Nisei is a bittersweet tale that depicts the individual experience within a national crisis and reminds us of or past to help us move forward into our future.
